Anti-AI art commitment

Due to controversies and ethical issues around generative AI, I have decided to not use AI generated assets for testing purposes, forbid the use of branding in projects that use AI generated assets, and enforce the code of conduct on people that celebrate the loss of jobs caused by generative AI or AI translators (especially if such thing also involve complaining about "wokeness", "SJWs", or whatever words they will use next time).

Generative AI has many ethical issues, including:

  • Models being trained on data the creators were not consented to.
  • Containing a lot of other unethically sourced data, including medical records and CSAM (real CSAM!).
  • Replacing artists, writers, etc., with machines, while art and self-expression being a part of human experience.
  • Flooding the already very saturated market with poorly and quickly made "art" that contains no human input, save for a few vague ideas.
  • All at the cost of very poor efficiency.

This, alongside with an extremely toxic community around the AI community that celebrates the job loss caused by this kind of automation (especially if it also involves "wokeness"), made me to take this pledge.

I can understand why someone would think on using AI. I personally struggle with finding time for art, and often I overwork myself until I burn out. I also struggle with communication and networking, thus I have a hard time finding people for collaboration, especially as I also don't have money for commissions. However, due to the aforementioned issues, I can't get myself. When I create something, the whole creative process goes through the time I create it, not just until I come up with some vague ideas.

As for code: at least D was pretty bad when it came to LLMs, and they did not understand the concept of function attributes, and I don't know how they're currently, not to mention the issues it still has. D has pretty good metaprogramming capabilities, which can take care of some if not all of the boilerplate. If you need part of my code, then just copy it.
